BRATWURST IN BEER SAUCE
Good For:
Dinner
Ingredients
- 4 Bratwurst sausages
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon butter or oil
- 1 cup beer (choose a beer with a flavor you like)
- 1/2 cup chicken or beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Step 1
Heat a skillet or pan over medium heat and add butter or oil. Add the sliced onions and cook until they are soft and translucent.
Step 2
Push the onions to the sides of the pan and add the minced garlic to the center. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Step 3
Push the garlic to the side, and add the Bratwurst sausages to the pan. Cook them until they are browned on all sides. This will take about 8-10 minutes.
Step 4
Once the sausages are browned, add the beer to the pan. Be careful, as it might splatter a bit. Let the beer simmer for a few minutes to cook off the alcohol.
Step 5
Add the chicken or beef broth, Dijon mustard, and brown sugar to the pan. Stir everything together and let it simmer for another 5-7 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 6
Once the sausages are fully cooked and the sauce has thickened slightly, remove the pan from heat.
Step 7
Serve the Bratwurst in Biersoße over cooked noodles, mashed potatoes, or with crusty bread. Spoon some of the beer sauce over the sausages.
Step 8
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color and added freshness. Enjoy your Bratwurst in Biersoße with your favorite sides and a cold glass of beer!
